Echinacea, but which one to choose?

Echinacea, but which one to choose?

Echinacea is one of the herbs whose beneficial properties are associated with a very common cold symptom of winter. It's definitely not the only relative herb. The reason we focus on this is mainly to broaden the breadth of the criteria around the preparations of this product.

Numerous studies have shown that echinacea contributes to reducing the duration of the cold. It relieves of various symptoms such as cough, sore throat, fever. It is also preventively recommended as it is considered a safe natural product with adjuvant properties.

However, one of the interesting issues arising from plant surveys concerns the grading of the effect of the echinacea product, depending on which plant variety is used (there are three), which part of the plant (root, foliage or both) , which method of preparation of the preparation is used, and what other herbs may have been added. In other words, the effect of the plant on the body cannot be considered as a single product, since each product may be quite different.

Trade samples of commercial flax and commercial products may contain one or more of the three species, and the analysis of raw material and product samples has shown that some even may not meet the recognized standards for pharmaceutical quality.
