Holistic health and Medicine

According to the World Health Organization, "health" is defined as "the state of complete physical and mental wellbeing of the individual and not just the absence of illness or disability". This brief but certainly clear interpretation of our term directly raises the question of how health is basically addressed today and what room for improvement exists.

Certainly the health of each individual is determined by the system flanked. For example, other physical, mental, psychological and social issues are faced by an unemployed citizen and another kind of problems faces a worker living in a tranquil environment, with many of the key issues of his or her life being settled.

However, in this article we will attempt to grip with that part of health that everyone can speak personally, but why not, be an improved and systemic approach to health. We will talk in short about holistic medicine, which is no more than an integrated approach to the human body.

As neuroscientist Zaglis Dimitris mentions, in a related article in iatronet.gr: Man is far more than just a biological machine, so we should not just confine ourselves to dealing with a biological symptom or clinical condition but try to improve the overall health status of man.

We can not only talk about diseases, therefore, but about separate physical and spiritual human beings in the whole, which as such should be treated.

The factors considered as they directly affect physical health and balance include climatic conditions, diet, exercise, rest, stress, sexual health, and so on. Understanding, studying and improving or adapting these factors is fundamental to holistic medicine.

The principle of reasoning is certainly simple. If a part of our body or health does not work normally, everything else is affected more or less. Health is thus achieved not only when they eliminated the disease or a disability, but based on the general health of the person.

Initially, the goal is for the scientist to identify the real cause of a disease, through diagnostic methods. Then select the appropriate Therapeutic Techniques, acting at all levels, as far as possible. The intervention is carried out in the context of the harmonious coexistence and completion of alternative and conventional medicine.

Holistic or Integrated Medicine currently includes differentiated methodological approaches, which are the 'branches' of the sector.

The key steps are:

The analytical methods and examinations performed in Holistic and Integrated Medicine are the same as those used in conventional medicine.

Other methods of diagnosing and classifying the condition are then used. These methods are derived from non-conventional therapeutic system, such as for example the traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture), homeopathy, energy medicine (electroacupunctureby Voll & Vega, Bioresonance, kinesiology etc.) and others depending on the condition. The aim of these methods is to identify the deeper - and not just the apparent - causes of a condition.

Moreover, in the spectrum of the complete cure is selected, and a milder action, wherein there included nutritional therapy, herbal medicine, acupuncture, homeopathy, mesotherapy, or oxygen - ozone therapy, biochemical treatment, physical-mental training and many others depending on the problem.

In Holistic Medicine et al no way conventional methods therapists limit excluded where these are deemed necessary.
