One of the most common problems with scalp is dandruff. It is a dermatological scalp condition, which is usually not dangerous but quite annoying, as these white flakes create an unsightly image.

What is dandruff & where is it due?
It is estimated that more than half the people in the world have had or experienced dandruff. Usually, dead cells that detach from the scalp are almost invisible. However, when the skin cells grow and die very quickly, their exfoliation creates dandruff. Of course, dandruff flakes are not contagious.
The causes of dandruff are many, from as simple as inappropriate hair brushing, inadequate bathing, oily skin and emotional stress to some skin condition requiring treatment. The appearance of dandruff seems to play a role in the fatty "Malassezia" that develops in oily areas such as the chest, face and scalp. Diet is also a factor associated with the appearance of dandruff.
Today the most popular medicines for the treatment of dandruff are shampoos with antifungal properties. Like any other chemical, these soaps - but also ordinary ones - have an environmental impact. Sometimes they can cause side effects on the skin (allergies, rashes, urticaria, etc.) and it is well known that daily bathing is something to avoid.

Are there natural ways to treat dandruff?
The good news is that there are natural ways to combat dandruff through the products that Nature generously offers us. Perhaps the most effective, easy and inexpensive way to treat dandruff and dry skin is to use olive oil.
- Olive oil is known to have moisturizing properties. All you have to do is apply a few drops of olive oil to the scalp, massage gently and then cover your head with a cap for the whole night.
- Another natural product that does wonders is lemon. Massage your head with two tablespoons of lemon juice and rinse thoroughly with water. Immediately afterwards, pour a teaspoon of lemon juice into a mug of water and rinse your hair with the mixture. Repeat this procedure every day until dandruff recedes. The acidity of the lemon will bring balance to the ph of the skin and thus help to remove dandruff.
- Coconut oil helps to strengthen the hair. Apply a small amount to the scalp and massage gently. Leave the coconut oil overnight and wash the next morning with plenty of water. Alternatively you can mix the coconut oil with lemon.
- Apple cider changes the pH of the scalp due to its acidity and fights fungi. Vinegar contains active potassium enzymes that counteract the itching caused by dandruff. You can use a tablespoon of vinegar for a cup of water. If you want to pour more vinegar into the water, it is best to rinse your hair after half an hour.
- Baking soda also has quick results. Scrub your wet hair with a handful of baking soda, as you would with your soap, and then rinse. The baking soda fight the fungi that cause dandruff.
- Another natural ally in the treatment of dandruff is aloe. Due to its antibacterial and antifungal action, it helps in the treatment of dandruff, psoriasis and dermatitis. The plant relieves itching and gives shiny hair thanks to its vitamins and minerals.
